Laughter Inducing Medicine

Dinner with my sister, Vangie at Mr. Choi's was fun, we planned to make some changes with our eating habits (yet again) while sharing a huge portion of crispy-fried seafood noodles.

Something in that dish triggered my allergies, and I experienced itchiness on my nose. It felt like all the pores on my nose were asking to be scratched.

On the way home, in our building elevator, my sister suggested I take her antihistamine, VIRLIX.

Say what???

I told her it sounds like a name of an 80's primadonna parlorista.

In Cagayan de Oro, back in the 80's, we had some pretty good hairdstylists. Pretty talented bunch too. All of the popular primadonna-types are guys who wore makeup and use feminine names. Don't get me wrong, I'm a confessed faghag/fruitfly/queerdear since I was yea high... *gesture palm downwards against hip*

The names...Bridgette, Chana, Abba, Vhoyette, Boyeth, and of course my personal favorite--Marife.

I was telling Vange that it "...sounds nothing like medicine. It sounds like person born in a rural area, named after his parents, Virgie and...er..."

"ALIX?" she offered.

Stitches and Burns

The Game: Take the last word of every line, translate/decode it into a Singlish sentence and make some sense out of it.

People say that I'm a fool
Well I don't know
At least I found out
what it takes to be strong
I was dreaming all day long
A drifting cloud
With eyes wide open
I would choose not to see

Now I don't want
to see you anymore
Don't want to be the one
to play your game
Not even if you smile
your sweetest smile
Not even if you beg me
darling please

Say good morning to the world
I hope you like it
take good care of all those
things that we have
I've been looking for a way
for to long now
seems like everything
must come to an end

Time after time
nothing that I can do
Knowing your ways
and loving your ways
But not getting through at all
Day after day
leaving the past behind
Coming to terms
with stitches and burns
Learning to fly again
