Bliss in Manila

Label: Music for Dreams
Category: Downbeat.

Bliss is a group with Danish/African/Swiss (I think) members whose music (click here to listen samples) is produced under an indie label.

Some of their songs are classic staples in the underground-ambient scene. They're coming to Manila. We're on the map. Yay...

But you get the feeling it could partially be due to the 2nd Venue they picked. Tee hee...

One of my favorite tracks:

The red light of the sun
Slowly descending
The sky is all I see
It´s never ending
We could fly
You and I
On a cloud

The wind plays with the leaves
The weather turns colder
But as long as we believe
Love doesn´t get older
We could fly
You and I
On a cloud

On a journey of the heart
There´s so much to see
And when the sky is dark
You´ll be right here
Right here with me

hair Posted by Hello

Sis has had one chemo-treatment almost 3 weeks ago.
she'll be getting her second one next week on March 3.

Yesterday, she started to get bothered by her itchy scalp.
Hair fell out when she scratched her head.

She has a few hats in different colors just for this period.
Later this afternoon, we shall get her more hats.

Early this month, she went to see this vulture wig-maker in San Juan.
She made another visit to a sweet couple (wife is a cancer survivor as well)
who make wigs. Upon their advice, since she'll have roughtly 4 months of chemo,
she decided to just be bald and beautiful.

If people are bothered by her hair's appearance/disappearance, she has 3 words for them:

As tribute to this new temporary phase in her life,
Hre are lyrics from the musical Hair.
Something to look forward to when we grow back her crowning glory.

“Let it fly in the breeze
And get caught in the trees
Give a home to the fleas in my hair
A home for fleas
A hive for bees
A nest for birds
There ain't no words
For the beauty, the splendor, the wonder
Of my...

Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Flow it, show it
Long as God can grow it
My hair…”

You Belong in 1968

If you scored...
1950 - 1959: You're fun loving, romantic, and more than a little innocent. See you at the drive in!
1960 - 1969: You are a free spirit with a huge heart. Love, peace, and happiness rule - oh, and drugs too.
1970 - 1979: Bold and brash, you take life by the horns. Whether you're partying or protesting, you give it your all!
1980 - 1989: Wild, over the top, and just a little bit cheesy. You're colorful at night - and successful during the day.
1990 - 1999: With you anything goes! You're grunge one day, ghetto fabulous the next. It's all good!

What Year Do You Belong In?

Across the street from where I live, they are knocking down the old Manila Midtown Ramada Hotel.

24/7 I get too hear banging, drilling, clanging and somethimes feel vibrations/earthquake type rocking.

They seem to have been doing this forever... they remind me of the Doozers in Fraggle Rock.

There will be motion in the stillness as there is music in the silence.

Last December, one of the persons I love most, my sister Vangie, got diagnosed with breast cancer. I did not want to put anything on this blog about it as it is not my call to break the news to some of her friends who i know view this blog from time to time. She has started a blog about her journey. It is honest, filled with wisecracks and her indelible brand of sunshine.

She underwent surgery in CCC hospital early January of this year. Last week, she had her first chemotherapy. Her treatment has began.

Everything that I have ever experienced is dwarfed by the tremendous courage and spirit she has shown and I know will continue to show.

We are getting there, Achi! Remember, everyone who loves you are all behind you.
One love.

See her blog.

mag publishers love to give fake deadlines. it's deceitful, it breeds mistrust. as if we've ever missed a deadline before.

*damyu, damyu-ol!*

the previous project and this present one both smell too suspicious (intertwining deadlines). wonder when the mag we finished yesterday would hand in their check. that was so naive. in my opinion a bad move to hand in anything with no papertrail to nail them with.

*damyu, damyu-ol!*

this present mag we are making has not only sprouted horns from dabblers, it's amatuer city. creative directors suddenly entering the picture 2 days before submission and demanding a "look" that requires us to move heaven and earth (make the sky look this way, make the grass look that way...did you think it was not literal?

*damyu, damyu-ol!*

the last time i saw my boyfriend was january 22. doubt that i would see him this weekend. he's having a hellweek also, monday they have this event. and i can't go to that either.

*damyu, damyu-ol!*

i dedicate this blog to all planet of the apes fans and to pet.

2004 hit song

This Love by Maroon 5

"I was so high I did not recognize
The fire burning in her eyes
The chaos that controlled my mind"

You were so great in 2004 that you make everyone a little bit sick!
